Always remember to tune your song’s notes to its tempo.
Pitch and tempo are both measured in frequencies. (Frequency of pitch is usually measured in hertz, while frequency of tempo is usually measured in beats per minute.)
So, how can you harmonize your song’s pitches with its tempo?
It’s simple. Just multiply your tempo by 60 to get its pitch. This will synchronize your bass guitar string’s vibrations to exactly match your drummer’s 1/32nd notes (or 1/64th notes, if it’s a slow song).
You can use this helpful chart to see which musical notes best harmonize with the tempo of your song.
For example, if your song is in 103.1250 beats per minute, it harmonizes perfectly with the note A. (After all, 440 hertz is exactly 8 octaves above 103.1250 beats per minute.)
